SLOWDOWN FOR SOLSTICE
Welcome to your winter wisdom: a visualisation
Winter Solstice is a powerful time to reflect, celebrate, let go and open yourself up to your intentions for this wintery womb space we’re in. Represented by the hermit, you might be feeling a pull to hide yourself away. Just know that this is the perfect time for tapping into your creative space! With Capricorn season here too, its all about laying foundations and structures, getting ready for your most magical year yet. You are exactly where you need to be.
This visualisation is my gift to you. Thank you for being on this journey with me. Find a comfortable space where you won’t be disturbed and drop in.
Light a candle
Have your journal and a pen to hand, ready to note anything down after the meditation
For this meditation, I encourage you to be in darkness or candlelight only. Perhaps use an eye mask so you can really drop in. Embracing the shortest day of the year, this is where the darkness is present over more of our waking hours. It can feel heavy and this heaviness can be a reflection of our inner world. I invite you to see it as a space to go within and meet whatever lies in the darkness.
Questions to journal on after the meditation
This time of year really is about stillness. A time for a sacred pause, slowdown, reflection, and celebration. It’s a REBIRTH. Yes, another one! The sun has reached its lowest point, so from now on the light begins increasing again. So we’re seeing more of the sun. The sun that feeds us and helps us grow. Ask yourself:
What are my Sacred Endings right now? What am I ready to let go of?
What seeds do you want to plant that will grow when the days of long light return?
What do the roots represent that I want to weave into the earth? How do I want to feed them?
How can I surrender into the void of winter and nurture myself and my desires?
How did I appear when I met myself in the visualisation? How am I not showing up for her?
Want to go deeper? Here are some more journal prompts to support you this solstice and closing of the year
What word would I use to sum up the last 6 months, since summer solstice?
What three experiences brought me the most joy?
What brought me the most challenges?
What have I learnt?
What am I choosing to embrace within the void of this winter? How can I commit to myself?
What lies dormant for me in the darkness of winter? Is this something you want to remain there or re-ignite in your next chapter?
What old beliefs am I composting this winter, that no longer serve me and my bigger desires?
Getting clear on intentions:
What is draining me at the moment?
What is giving me life and lighting me up right now?
What is the word you want to take into 2023 and what does it mean to you? What can you do to weave this into existence?
If I knew I would be supported, what would be my biggest desires for 2023? (DREAM BIG)
What daily devotion do I want to bring into my day-to-day life moving forward?
