MY GIFTS TO YOU
Back to school?
Remember to come back to your breath.
With preparing for Autumn, a long list of to dos can accompany it. Whether you’re getting your kids back to school, or preparing for a new chapter of your life or business yourself, here’s a breathwork practice to support with overwhelm, bringing calm, balance and quietening the head/mind, so you can lead from the heart.. Carve out a quiet space for yourself for as little as 3 minutes and after the practice, sit in stillness with your eyes closed and notice the subtle shifts.
Alternate nostril breathing
1. Sit comfortably with your legs crossed and your back straight, imagining you have a thread pulling you up to the skies
2. Place your right thumb on your right nostril and your ring or little finger on your left nostril.
3. Rest your two middle fingers on your forehead, in between your eyebrows on your third eye.
4. Block your right nostril and inhale deeply in through your left nostril.
5. Release your right nostril, close your left and exhale through your right nostril.
6. Breath deep into your right nostril, switch again, and breath out of your left nostril.
7. Continue doing this for 10 rounds/ 3 minutes. One complete round is inhale left, exhale right, inhale right, exhale left.
8. Always finish breathing out of your left nostril. If it helps to set a timer so you can drop in, use Insight Timer.
This is great for dropping out of the monkey mind and into the body, creating more balance.
Sowing the seeds of your future.
Here’s a 15-minute visualisation to help you to get clearer on what you want to call in and how you want to feel. Find a comfortable space, pop some headphones in, grab your journal and enjoy xx
Get Grounded.
Here’s a gift from me to you, to support you when you need it. Get grounded each day by taking yourself to a comfortable space, popping on some headphones and taking a few minutes to reconnect with yourself. Notice how you feel afterwards and thank yourself for gifting yourself these moments of peace and calm.
Light me up list template.
My 'Light me up’ list is one of my favourite tools. By having a carefully crafted list of all the things I love, I come back to it whenever I need an energy shift. Download my free template via the button below and add anything onto it that lights you up. That could be dancing, calling a friend, journaling, sea swimming, painting, walking barefoot, laughing, having a bath… the list is endless! No matter how big or small the action, if it lights you up then it goes on the list. Keep it somewhere prominent, either on your mirror or a picture of it on your phone, and come back to it whenever you need to. I would LOVE to see your light me up lists once you’ve added to them, so if you share them on Instagram, please do tag me in (mamabetty__) so I can feel inspired and celebrate you.
Living an alcohol free life
May 2024 marks four year of living without alcohol. It has been one of the best deciscions I have made, but it doesn’t mean it is easy. Living in a society that is based on enabling and even encouraging socialising and celebrating with alcohol, it can be hard to bring about this change. If you are sober curious, and/or have recently experienced Dry January, Sober October or a chosen period without alcohol and you’ve noticed a difference, I would recommend taking some time to sit with these journal prompts to delve a little deeper into your relationship with alcohol to support you on your journey to continue living without alcohol. I hope these help.
